Ondansetron is classified as an antiemetic drug help to control nausea and vomiting induced by various causes.

Mode of Action

PaciONDEN is Serotonin (5-HT3) receptor antagonist, reduces both peripheral & central vagus nerve activity, deactivating the vomiting center in the medulla oblongata.

Indications

PaciONDEN is used to treat nausea and vomiting in the following cases:

    • Morning sickness
    • Hyperemesis Gravidarum
    • Side Effects from Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Drugs
    • Post-Surgery
    • Gastroenteritis

    Dosage & Instructions

    • PONV: 8mg injection before & after surgery. General N & V: 8mg injection 2-3 times a day.
    • HG: 8mg injection BD or TDS per day depending upon patient condition.
    • Pediatric Dose: Parenteral 0.05-0.15mg/kg

    Contraindications

    PaciONDEN Injection is contraindicated for patients known to have hypersensitivity (e.g., anaphylaxis) to this product or any of its components. Anaphylactic reactions have been reported in patients taking ondansetron.

    The concomitant use of apomorphine with ondansetron is contraindicated based on reports of profound hypotension and loss of consciousness when apomorphine was administered with ondansetron
