(Escitalopram 10mg)
Mechanism of Action: Escitalopram belongs to a class of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). These agents cause an increase in serotonin levels in neuronal synapses by preventing the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) into the presynaptic terminals of serotonergic neurons
Indications
- Depression.
- Anxiety.
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- Panic attacks.
Contraindications:
Concomitant use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), pimozide is contraindicated. Not recommended for children less than 12 years old.
Dosage:
One tab daily as the doctor suggested morning/evening.
